Registration for this event will begin on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. (Pacific).

I AM A DISNEY CAST MEMBER. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Disney Cast Members do not receive a discount on the Event Package price. Eligible Cast Members may receive a discount on Event Merchandise only. Normal Cast Member merchandise discount guidelines apply; please refer to your Employee Policy Manual for questions regarding your merchandise discount.

Disney Cast Members will need to send a copy of their valid Disney ID to Walt Disney Event Services. This copy can be sent via fax machine to 407-566-1387 by April 15, 2005.

WHY IS THE EVENT CALLED PIN ROUTE 498? IS THERE SUCH A ROAD?

Since this is a Disney Pin Trading "road trip," WDW had to select some place to travel. Route 498 does exist - it can be found in Dinoland, U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. This road is found between Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama! and Chester and Hester's Dinosaur Treasures. The evening celebration will be held in this location.

Why is it called "498?" To discover the answer, just think about what year and month Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park opened.

I HEARD THIS EVENT WILL ONLY FEATURE STITCH. IS THIS TRUE?

While Stitch will no doubt cause some sort of trouble, he is not the only Disney character that will be a part of this event. The pins created for this event also feature Mickey Mouse and friends, Dumbo and Timothy, Disney Villains, Jessica Rabbit, Chip and Dale and several others.

The story of Pin Route 498 is as follows:
Stitch has been taking a Coast to Coast trip down Route 498, collecting pins along the way. His journey ends in Dinoland, U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. Chester and Hester Diggs are holding a celebration in honor of Stitch's great feat with a shindig called the "Route 498 Pinboree!"

Of course, the Diggs never do anything small. So, they have invited the WDAK News team and Disney Pin Traders from all over to greet Stitch as he crosses the finish line. While the News team and Pin Traders wait for Stitch, there will be games to play, rides to ride, delicious food and a DJ spinning tunes. There will also be a "pin dig" in the Boneyard and several Disney characters to meet.

Once Stitch arrives, one lucky guest will be named the Ultimate Traveler with the help of a surprise visitor. The evening will end with a grand finale that will make this a Disney Pin Event to remember.

Guests registered for Pin Route 498 will have until Friday, March 25, 2005 - 11:59 PM (Pacific) to complete the Random Selection Process (RSP) form on-line.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY PIN ROUTE 498 MERCHANDISE?

Merchandise Pick-up / Registration will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005 (day of the event) at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Please Note - Registration and Pick-Up will be held from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. WDW is not offering an advanced registration / merchandise pick-up option for this event.

WILL SHIPPING BE OFFERED FOR MY MERCHANDISE?

Shipping will not be offered at Pin Route 498.

WHAT IS THE LAST STOP MERCHANDISE STORE?

The Last Stop Merchandise Store will be an opportunity for Guests to purchase additional Pin Route 498 items. This store will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis. A shopping list will be provided listing if any items are remaining. If a Guest returns an item during the day, another Guest may have the opportunity to purchase that item (again on a first-come, first-serve basis). Any remaining items after Saturday, April 30 will be a part of Public Day on May 1, 2005. Event Guests can attend Public Day starting at 9:00 AM on May 1; Non-Event Guests can attend Public Day starting at 10:00 AM.

HOW CAN I ATTEND PUBLIC DAY?

WILL THERE BE TRADING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN?

Yes! Children ages 3-12 will have an area specifically designed for them to have fun and trade. This area will feature a trading board and fun children's activities.

WILL THERE BE TRADING ACTIVITIES AT THE EVENT?

Yes! Following the success of themed trading activities at Disney's Pin Celebration 2004 - A Family Pin Gathering and Spectacle of Pins 2004, we will continue themed trading activities.

WILL THERE BE A LIVE OR SILENT AUCTION?

There will be both a live and silent auction at Pin Route 498. The auctions will be a great opportunity for Guests to bid on several unique Disney Pin items. The Silent Auction will be held from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2005. The Live Auction will begin at 6:15 PM.

Disney Design Group Artists will be signing items at Pin Route 498. As the event date gets closer, additional details on which artists will be shared.

WHERE WILL THE EVENING CELEBRATION TAKE PLACE?

The evening event - Route 498 Pinboree - will take place in the Dinoland, U.S.A. area at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED TO THE ROUTE 498 PINBOREE?

Yes. WDW will provide transportation to the Route 498 Pinboree evening celebration. WDW will also provide return transportation to Disney's Coronado Springs or to the Downtown Disney Area. If Guests desire, they can also drive to Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park parking.

WILL THERE BE STROLLER OR WHEELCHAIR RENTALS?

Yes. WDW will offer a limited number of strollers and wheelchairs for rent. These items will be rented on a first-come, first-serve basis. WDW will not have ECVs available for rental during the evening celebration.

When a Guest registered for Pin Route 498 via DisneyPins.com, there was a box to check if the Guest had food concerns. If a Guest did not check that box, the Guest should then contact Walt Disney Event Services at 407-827-7600. We will try our best to accomodate any food concerns that Guests may have.

WILL ALCOHOL BE SERVED AT THE ROUTE 498 PINBOREE?

Yes. Eligible Guests will receive two drink coupons for alcoholic beverages. Coupons will only be given to Guests who are 21 years of age with valid Identification (including State Issued Driver's License, Passport, Miltary ID or Birth Certificate).

WHAT OTHER EVENING ACTIVITIES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE ROUTE 498 PINBOREE?

After a full day of trading at a select Disney-Resort Hotel, the evening celebration will be filled with fun! Guests are invited to participate in the Route 498 Destination Quest which will involve play games in the Dinoland, U.S.A. area, enjoy music or ride a variety of select Disney Attractions. There will also be a "pin dig" in the Boneyard and several Disney characters to meet.

At 10:00 PM 9:45 PM, one lucky guest will be named the Ultimate Traveler with the help of a surprise visitor. The evening will end with a grand finale that will make this a Disney Pin Event to remember.

WILL SOME ATTRACTIONS BE OPEN DURING THE EVENING EVENT?

Yes. A select number of Disney Attractions and games will be operating in Dinoland, U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park until 10:00 PM. These attractions include Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl or Triceratops Spin.
