Expedition: PINS
Saturday May 3, 2008 Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park Join Mickey Mouse and friends for an extreme "limited" expedition. The world famous Disney characters must return the lost pins from the ancient city of Tradeapin to the towering Forbidden Mountain. Once returned, these mysterious pins, each representing the elements of wind, water, earth and fire, will restore peace to the land. Get ready for an unforgettable trading trek full of thrills, surprises and, of course, pins. Beware, you may encounter a snarling beast who watches over this treacherous terrain ... the Yeti! Public Day ~ Sunday, May 4, 2008
As WDW is no longer accepting reservations for this event, Guests are invited to attend Public Day for Expedition: PINS on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Public Day will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. until Park close at Island Mercantile located at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. If there is any remaining merchandise created for this event, it will be sold to Guests on a first-come, first-serve basis (normal purchasing guidelines apply and Theme Park admission is required to attend). Registered Event Guests will have a final shopping opportunity from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on May 4. Event Credentials and Theme Park admission to Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park is required. |

Important Note for Event Guests
Time is drawing near for the next great adventure in pin trading! WDW hopes that you are gearing up for the trek and want to make sure you are prepared for your journey. Please remember that all guests over the age of 18 must have a government issued photo-ID with them at event registration in order to check in for the event. This can be a driver's license, state ID or passport. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the registration process. In addition, please remember that WDW can not provide registration packets, materials or merchandise to anyone other than the registered attendee. This restriction does include providing packets for minor children to a parent or guardian if the child is not present at registration. If your party includes minors, please make sure they are with you during the check-in process. |

This pin was given as a gift during the Expedition: PINS event. The green patch that says PINS and lists the 4 elements contains an error. Earth is spelled Eartr. There is also a red and orange patch that features an image of a scary looking animal. Finally, there is a patch with 2008 embroidered onto it. The rest of the "patches" on the front are printed on. One of them features the event logo with Mickey Mouse stanind in front of Everest. When you open the flap, inside there is a zipper compartment. On the outside Mt. Everest and several "patches" are printed on it. Inside the compartment are 4 pin pages with clear vinyl dividers. Each page measures approx 10 in by 9 in. There is also a larger zipper that reveals a large bag portion, making this bag more like an messanger bag with a full sized pin bag attached to it. |

UPDATE: WDW made the decision to change the sculpt to a three-dimensional framed set because they wanted to offer the best item possible for the Guests. The initial concepts for the sculpt were okay. WDW would have needed more time to make it truly an exceptional item. The three-dimensional frame set was inspired by the outstanding set from Tink's Summer Pin Quest in 2004. Garret Webb from Disney Design Group is creating the artwork for this item. The set will contain multiple layers for the image. The five pins which were originally planned to be a part of the sculpt will still be included. |
