The 25th Anniversary of Epcot®
Disney Pin Collection To Be Released Tomorrow Monday October 1, 2007 |
 In 1966, Walt Disney coined the acronym "EPCOT" meaning "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow." He presented his dream in a short film detailing a place where people could live in an environment like no other. Following the opening of the Magic Kingdom® Park in 1971, the Walt Disney Company announced it would proceed with plans to build Walt's final dream. Disney Imagineers soon had proposals ready for a park consisting of two areas - Future World and World Showcase. "EPCOT Center" opened to Guests on October 1, 1982. Today, Guests visiting Epcot® can celebrate the fascinating cultures and numerous wonders of the world around through dazzling shows, interactive experiences and amazing attractions. Epcot® served as the birthplace of Disney Pin Trading in October 1999. WDW felt it was fitting to commemorate this milestone with a wonderful collection of Disney pins. Martha Widener from Disney Design Group contributed to the artwork for these pins. The pins will be released at various locations throughout Epcot® on October 1, 2007. It will be a feast for the eyes as well as the palate
during the 12th annual Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival
September 28 through November 11 at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
To celebrate this annual festival, a "tastefully inspired" collection of limited edition pins will be released at Epcot®. There will be three limited edition pins featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as topiaries, Tinker Bell and Stitch. A new five-pin box set will also be released featuring the world famous Disney characters enjoying food around the world. Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members will have the opportunity to add specially designed pins to their respective Disney pin collections. A limited edition Passholder Exclusive pin and a limited edition Disney Vacation Club Member exclusive pin will be released at Pin Central at Epcot® during the festival. Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members must present valid Passholder or Disney Vacation Club Member ID and ask for the pin at the register in order to purchase. |

A Cast Pin Party will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at The Milk House located at Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex. This party will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cast Members are allowed to bring up to 3 Guests per valid Cast ID. Guests will not be eligible to purchase Cast Exclusive pins or receive free Limited Edition pin. Cast Members with valid a Walt Disney World® ID will receive one (1) coupon for the Cast Create-A-Pin designs. This coupon allows Cast Members to purchase as many as two (2) Limited Edition Cast Create-A-Pins each, per style.
