WDW Disney's Pin Traders Celebrates

A new mystery coming to Disney's Pin Traders at
WDW and other select merchandise locations later this Summer. "[The
mystery] is something we have never done before," stated Steven
Miller. "It's fun, innovative and, of course, involves pins. We
think our Guests will really enjoy this."
In the next few weeks, Mickey Mouse will reveal this new mystery to the world!!  On July 19, 2002, Disney's Pin Traders opened inside Captain's Tower at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace. The merchandise location quickly became the ultimate pin purchasing-and-trading location at the Walt Disney World® Resort. The shop currently offers the largest selection of collectible pins and pin accessories, including everything from Disney character pins to pins commemorating Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, attractions, resort hotels and much more. Disney's Pin Traders also has several tables where pin collectors can display and trade pins, plus two Internet stations where enthusiasts can visit this official web site, DisneyPins.com. A specially designed limited edition pin was released today at Disney's
Pin Traders Steven Miller, Project Manager for Disney Pin Trading, recalls the official dedication that took place on Aug. 4, 2002. The grand opening saw the official launch of Disney's Build-a-Pin, a program that allowed Guests to build their own pins using a variety of bases and add-ons, and the official launch of the Disney Pin Trading website, DisneyPins.com. A Grand Opening pin and 12 open edition Zodiac symbol pins were also released that day. Disney Design Group artist, Mark Seppala was on hand to sign the Grand Opening pin between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Festive carnival games, a balloon artist and other characters that entertained Guests throughout the day. Finally, thousands of cupcakes were distributed as part of the celebration. "I often think about the many magical trades and memories that have been made during these past five years at Disney's Pin Traders," continued Steven. "We are able to celebrate this milestone with thanks in part to the many dedicated Guests and Cast Members who continue the Disney Pin Trading tradition everyday. I look forward to celebrating the next milestone in Disney pins!" |

pin was awarded at Cast Dreams Fair on July 12th at WDW.

The Dreams Fair, "Road to the Basics" was
hosted by the Transportation and Ticket Center, and Cast Members got
a first hand look at how The Basics can be applied in everyday interactions
with our Guests. From limo rides to the red carpet that greeted Cast
Members as they approached the Westgate building to the myriad of balloons
and catered lunch, the entire building had been transformed into a Dreams
wonderland complete with "roads" and special "rest stops"
just for them!
Each Cast Member was given a very special, limited edition "Making Dreams Come True" pin created specifically for their line of business. Last evening, we featured the "Transportation Cast Members" Pin. |
