New for 2005 is Disneyland® Resort’s new
“Featured Artist” Collection. These Limited Edition Jumbo-sized
pins will be released each month featuring a different Disney Design
Group Artist. Each quarter the DLR will host one of the Featured Artist
for a special appearance.
This Limited Edition Jumbo-sized pin-on-pin is part of the 2005 Featured Artist series and features Mickey Mouse and the gang standing in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Costa Alavezos from Disney Design Group designed this pin called "Magic In The Sky". This pin measures approximately 3" x 3" and includes the "Feature Artist" logo and Artist's signature back stamped. The pin is packaged in a beautiful display box and includes the Artist's bio and photograph. Costa's bio reads: "I graduated from the Art Academy of San Francisco in 1979 and began my 25-years in illustration. I started with the Disney Design Group in June 1997 and accepted the position as Senior Character Artist for Walt Disney World. Who says dreams never come true." |

Created just for Disneyland® Resort for Cast Members,
the 50 Happiest Moments On Earth collector cards celebrate many memorable
moments in Disneyland® Resort history, including the "top ten"
moments as voted on by Cast Members this past fall.
These Cast-exclusive collector cards will be distributed in five sets of 10 cards, one set each month, while supplies last, on March 17, April 17, May 17, June 17 and July 17. To complement your trading card collection, two Cast exclusive "top ten" 50 Happiest Moments On Earth pins will be available for purchase at the TEAM Centers each month. Pins are $6 each pin. Limited edition: 1,000 each. Limit 2 pins per Cast Member, while supplies last. Pins available beginning March 17, 2005:

A new Disney Pin Trading destination opens today at the Magic Kingdom® Park. While visiting the Main Street, U.S.A.® Area, Guests are invited to stop by Uptown Jewelers - a new destination for Disney Pins and Trading Accessories**. This merchandise location is located on the right side of Main Street, USA®, just past the Main Street Cinema. "We are delighted to have another trading destination within the Magic Kingdom® Park," said Steven Miller, Project Manager for Disney Pin Trading. "This new destination will compliment the excitement around Disney Pin Trading found within the Park already. It's the perfect match for the upcoming launch of the Happiest Celebration on Earth." This new Limited Edition surprise pin was released to celebrate the
opening of this new location.

Visitors to Disney-MGM Studios in Florida between May 20 and June 12 this year will be treated to a great lineup of special Star Wars Weekends merchandise created exclusively for this eagerly anticipated annual event. In addition to the planned activities, events, and celebrities (as outlined in this story here), guests will have the opportunity to shop for exclusive pins, posters, t-shirts, coins, and other collectibles in the whimsical Disney/Star Wars crossover tradition. To many, that tradition is defined by the exclusive pin sets available at each Star Wars Weekends event, and Pin USA delivers a fantastic array for 2005. Some available only in limited edition sets, collectors can look forward to at least 20 all new designs this year. Here's the rundown:
The Star Wars Weekends collectible coins, which have become a traditional event exclusive since 2001, will all be recast for a limited edition set of 250. Collectors of these popular coins from the past need not worry -- the 2005 Star Wars Weekends logo will appear on the obverse of each coin, distinguishing them from the past years' originals. Collectors will also note the addition of a year 2000 coin, which will finally be made available for the first time exclusively in this set. Additionally, the 2005 coin featuring the Darth Vader/Mickey graphic will be available in four finishes: gold plate, silver plate, bronze oxide, and brushed nickel. These will be limited to 1000 each. Bean bag collectors will be pleased to find Mickey clad in the famous Sith Lord's armor for this year's event, nicely complementing the "Jedi Mickey" bean bag from the 2004 Star Wars Weekends. In addition to these limited editions and other collectibles, fans will be able to find a whole bunch of other great items featuring the Star Wars Weekends 2005 artwork. Keychains, mugs, T-shirts, caps, posters, magnets, and a special watch will all be available to guests at Disney MGM's Star Wars Weekends event, with some items also slated to appear at California's Disneyland theme park as well. |
