The month of February will be a very special one at Disney's Animal Kingdom! The park will be welcoming all Florida-based Cast Members for Cast Adventure 2005. What is Cast Adventure 2005? Cast Adventure 2005 at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park February 1-28, 2005 Fifteen years ago--on February 1, 1990--the initial Walt Disney Imagineering Team who created the concept for and design of Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park was formed.

WDW Cast Member Design-a-Pin Contest
|
|
The Walt Disney World Pin Trading Team is proud to
announce the very first Walt Disney World Cast Member Create-A-Pin Contest.
Based on a best practice currently in use by our partners at the Disneyland®
Resort, the Cast Member Create-A-Pin Contest allows valued Walt Disney
World Cast Members to submit their design ideas for Disney pins.
Four winning pin designs will be selected based on originality, creativity, aesthetics, spirit, commercial value, glamour and simplicity. They will then be developed into Cast Exclusive pins available for sale at one of the upcoming 2005 Cast Pin Parties. For Cast Members to participate, simply attend the January 27th Cast Pin Party at Mickey’s Retreat or the February 17th Cast Pin Party at Downtown Disney – Cast Services Building to complete the official entry form. Or, download and complete the form on the Disney Team Portal. All entries must be submitted at the Downtown Disney Cast Pin Event by 4:00 p.m., February 17, 2005 or received by Steven A. Miller, Project Manager – Pin Trading, Maingate Merchandise, through interoffice mail by 4:00 p.m., February 17, 2005 to be considered. Only one entry per person. |

This Limited Edition Jumbo-sized spinner pin is part of the 2005 Featured Artist collection. Mark Seppala from Disney Design Group calls this pin Mickey, Minnie & Friends. LE 750 |

This pin measures approximately 3" x 3" and includes the "Feature Artist" logo and Artist's signature back stamped. The pin is packaged in a beautiful display box and includes the Artist's bio and photograph. This pin will be available at the Art of Disney locations and Disney's Pin Traders at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace. Mark Seppala's bio reads: "Mark grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, Pembroke to be exact. At an early age he became extremely interested in Walt Disney and all the characters included in the Disney family. After graduation from high school he went to the New England School of Art and Design in Boston where he majored in Advertising Design and Animation. After graduating from art school, Mark held various positions at local Boston design studios and in-house graphics departments. He has designed and worked on projects for print ads, animated TV spots, trade show videos, logos and more. During the time he was employed at these studios, Mark continued to pursue his longing for a job at Disney. After trying for over 10 years he finally became a cast member in 1990 for Attractions Merchandise. To this day he continues to be amazed at the amount of talent he works with. The pixie dust never seems to wear off. As Mark says, "I love coming to work each day". |

The first Cast Pin Party of 2005 will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Mickey's Retreat at Little Lake Bryan. Cast Members with valid Walt Disney World® Resort ID will receive
one (1) coupon to purchase the Mickey Mouse Cast Pin Party pin (Limited
Edition 1500). Limit two (2) Pins per Cast Member.** Retail $5.00.
