To celebrate the new Character Dining experience at
Disney's Paradise Pier® Hotel, the Disneyland® Resort is offering
a special limited-edition pin for Annual Passholders!
This terrific two-piece "dangler" pin features the two stars of the "Lilo & Stitch Aloha Breakfast," Lilo and Stitch, of course. It will be available exclusively to Annual Passholders beginning Sunday, January 9, 2005, while supplies last. One pin will be provided as part of a single food purchase of $25.00 (after tax and any applicable discount), at selected dining locations. In 2005, the Piece of Disney History Pin Collection
will debut at the Walt Disney World® Resort. This pin collection
will celebrate Disney Attractions and let Guests take a piece of Disney
history home with them.
Working with the Engineering Services teams around the Walt Disney World® Resort, the Disney Pin Team was able to obtain actual pieces of Disney Attractions, some of which have been retired. In turn, the Pin Team partnered with the manufacturer to add pieces of those Disney Attractions to the pins. "Attractions are an important part of a Disney vacation," said Julie Young, Product Developer for Disney Pin Trading. "With the Happiest Celebration on Earth just around the corner, I thought this would be a great way for our Guests to remember their favorite attractions." A variety of Attractions will be featured in this collection from all four Theme Parks, including Maelstrom at Norway Pavilion in Epcot®, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at the Disney-MGM Studios, Swiss Family Treehouse at the Magic Kingdom® Park, and many more. "I was really inspired by the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea porthole," continued Julie. "After seeing [the porthole], I wanted to find a way to get a piece of that classic attraction into the hands of many Guests. This pin collection was the result." A new pin will be released each month throughout 2005 and each pin will have an edition size of 2500. Check back soon for a confirmed release date of the first pin (most likely, the latter part of January). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the first time, the Disney Pin Team is offering a sneak preview
into the creation of these special pins. Each month, this page will
highlight the manufacturing process - from the first cut to the final
pin sample. Below you will find the creation of the 20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea pin, the first pin in this collection.

Stitch's Magical Adventure ~ Magic Kingdom Park |

Come join Stitch as he escapes on a magical adventure throughout the Magic Kingdom® Park. On Stitch's visit to the Magic Kingdom® Park, he manages to get into a little mischief while visiting attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise and others. Stitch's Magical Adventure consists of a collection of eight (8) Limited Edition pins and a logo pin. On Thursday January 6, 2005, the logo pin and the first of eight pins will be released. On each Thursday throughout January and February another pin will be released. The pins will be available for purchase at Magic Kingdom® Park
at Town Square Exposition Hall and Frontierland Trading Post. Quantities are limited and available on a first come, first-served basis. Edition size and release date subject to change. |

“Featured Artist” Collection. These Limited Edition Jumbo-sized
pins will be released each month featuring a different Disney Design
Group Artist. Each quarter the DLR will host one of the Featured Artist
for a special appearance.
To launch this new collection Disneyland® Resort Merchandise Special Events will host Disney Design Artist Susan Foy on January 22, 2005. To be released Saturday January 22, 2005
Susan's bio reads: "I graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, Colorado in 1984 and began a 16-year career in advertising. I started with the Disney Design Group as a freelance artist in May 1999 and in February 2000 became a permanent member of the creative team. Currently I am a member of the Disneyland® Resort Art Team". |
