New for 2005 is Disneyland® Resort’s new
“Featured Artist” Collection. These Limited Edition Jumbo-sized
pins will be released each month featuring a different Disney Design
Group Artist. Each quarter the DLR will host one of the Featured Artist
for a special appearance.
Event: "Featured Artist" Pin Release & Signing Featured Artist: Disney Design Group Senior Character Artist, Monty Maldovan Date: Saturday, April 23, 2005 Time: 9:00 a.m. to Noon Note location change!! Location: World of Disney Disney Design Group Artist, Monty Maldovan will make a special appearance to sign the latest release of our "Featured Artist" collection. This memorable "Featured Artist" pin encapsulates all the magic of Disneyland in a single pin. Also available will be several other pins designed by Monty, including Kermit's 50th Birthday pin, Mickey & Kermit "Welcome to the Family" pin, Tinker Bell Blossom pin, Stitch pin and Nemo pin. Please note wristband distribution guidelines below. Pin purchasing limits may apply. The pins being released will be as follows:
Limit TWO (2) pins signed per Guest. Special Guest Artist will only
sign their respective pins. Guests may park in the DTD parking lot. Parking fees will be enforced starting at 11:00 am. WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION Wristbands will be valid for the purchase of the pins at the designated
merchandise location until 1:00 P.M. on the day of distribution. Wristbands
are limited. At 1:00 P.M. any remaining pins will be available for
purchase at the designated merchandise location by persons who have
not previously purchased the pin(s) on the day of release. Theme park
admission required. Lost, stolen or damaged wristbands will not be
replaced. Wristbands have no cash value. Restrictions apply. Subject
to change without notice. ARTIST BIO: Monty Maldovan Now I am living out my biggest dream of being a Disney Artist. Working with the Disney Design Group and being part of this diverse, creative and talented group of artists (and fellow Disney geeks) is probably one of the most rewarding and exciting things to have ever happened to me. Every day I gain a greater respect and love for what I do and who I do it for. In my thirteen years with Disney I have seen, learned, experienced, and achieved more than I ever though possible. Jim sends us this scan of the 2004 Pest Management
Pins from WDW. We know that the LE 1000 was awarded to select Cast Members
of the Horticulture and Pest Management Team, however, we are "bugged"
as to the LE 100 pin. There are definite color differences between the
two pins, specifically the green in the banner, the lacking of red in
the three lady bugs in the 100, the brown in the worm in Pumbaa's mouth
(100) and the darker brown coloration in the 100. The pin on the right
has Limited Edition 1000 on the back, and the pin on the left,
has Limited Edition 100 on the back. Both have the 2004 Pin Trading
Logo; ©Disney and China also on the back.
